ReverseTheVote.org Set Up to Defeat Federal Healthcare Takeover

obama pelosi reid ReverseTheVote.org Set Up to Defeat Federal Healthcare TakeoverThe National Republican Congressional Committee has set up a website, reversethevote.org, to collect donations to be used in the 2010 Congressional elections to defeat 24 specific Democrats in conservative districts who voted for the Obama / Pelosi / Reid healthcare takeover.

Each of these Democrats is from a relatively conservative political district. Each of them will have another vote on the health care legislation and a chance to redeem themselves if the Senate passes a bill.

The goal is that a lot of donations to this site will not only cause concern for these 24 representatives, but that it also will send a message to Democratic senators up for reelection in 2010 that they must refuse to give Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid the 60 votes needed to end debate on the bill.

Politicians respond to money and seeing a lot of donations from a lot of people flow into this effort, may scare enough Democrats to defeat the takeover of healthcare.

The time to send this message is now. Harry Reid is trying to push the Senate’s version of the bill through the Senate as fast as possible and Democrats want to complete reconciliation and a final vote by the House and Senate before the end of the year so that they can change the subject prior to the Congressional elections in November 2010.

The idea for reversethevote.org was first proposed by radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt on his nationally syndicated show.
