President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have dropped both the public option and the expansion of Medicare to people under 65, but there is still plenty of harm left in the health care bill currently debated in the Senate.
If passed, the bill will still gut Medicare, increase rationing, raise taxes and premiums and give unprecedented power to regulate health care to the federal government. On top of this, it does not address the concerns that supposedly make passing health care legislation such an “urgent” issue, namely the rising cost of health care and insuring the majority of uninsured Americans. The key to addressing these issues is to decrease regulations and allow more private market competition.
The new bill may satisfy Senator Lieberman, but it hasn’t won support from conservative opponents to health care reform.
It also is creating increasing opposition to the bill from Obama’s radical left supporters who won’t be satisfied by anything that doesn’t lead to a quick and complete government takeover of health care. It is amusing to read the headlines on the left-wing blog, The Huffington Post. Here is a sample:

The furor on the left should not lead conservative, libertarian and moderate opponents of Obamacare to complacency. Obama will no doubt try to buy off his critics on the left to pass anything at this point.
Right-thinking opponents of Obamacare need to continue to express their opposition to their senators. One thing that will get politicians to listen, is the flow of campaign contributions. You can donate to Reversethevote.org to let your senators and representatives know that they will be targeted for defeat if they support this bill.
