The Senate will be voting on cloture to end debate on the health care bill. As another blog states: “Only thieves and whores do their work at such an hour.”
Unless one Democrat senator changes his mind in the next few hours, the chance to stop this monstrosity will diminish dramatically. The fight is not over, but the defeat of a bill that the majority of Americans don’t want, that will raise insurance premiums and health care costs, that will leave millions of Americans uninsured and that will give the federal government extraordinary new powers over the lives of Americans will become increasingly difficult and may require strange alliances.
