Massachusetts Republican Senate Candidate Scott Brown has raised over $1 million in a single day. His original goal was to raise $500,000. As of 10 pm EST, his website states that he has raised $1,050,156.36. Update @11:21 pm $1,117,747.46
Brown is running in a special election on January 19, to fill the Senate seat of Ted Kennedy. Opposition to Obamacare and Democrat’s overreach in expanding the federal government has him now tied with his Democrat opponent in one poll.
However far fetched it seems that a Republican can win Ted Kennedy’s seat, this has now become a real possibility. Much will depend on the turnout of Republicans and Independents a week from Tuesday.
If Scott Brown wins, he would be the crucial 41st vote in the Senate to stop Obamacare. Rather than have to wait until the November 2010 election to stop the excesses of the Obama administration, Republicans would have the ability to reign in Obama’s destructive policies before the end of January.
Donate to Scott Brown now! If you live in Massachusetts, don’t let anything stop you from voting on January 19!
