NJ Governor Christie Continues to Dish Out Common Sense

May 27, 2010

Here is New Jersey Governor Chris Christie talking to constituents. About halfway through the video a teacher complains about caps on teacher pay raises at a time when everyone in private business has to make cuts. Christie tells the teacher that if she doesn’t like the pay she doesn’t have to be a teacher. The teacher responds that people become teachers because they love the work. Exactly right. Teaching brings rewards that many other jobs do not.

Christie is not afraid to confront teacher unions and to have a consistent message that government must live under the same constraints the rest of us have.

Here is another great response from Christie to criticism of his policies.
