MSNBC’s Chris Matthews has a new special on the Tea Party movement. Predictably, he tries to equate the Tea Party with militias and the potential for violence. Andrea Mitchell calls the Tea Party “militants” and Chris Matthews is shocked that Tea Party activists have opinions on what is constitutional and aren’t willing to blindly agree with the Supreme Court.
He tries to inspire fear about the Tea Party’s use of the Gadsden flag. And he mentions that “they have guns.”
This comes from the people who often idolize totalitarians like Mao Tse Tung, Che Guevara and Fidel Castro.
Hot Air comments:
The Gadsden flag has a long and illustrious history in our nation, and it’s precisely because the Right does believe in self-government that they use it in their protests. Instead of actually engaging the Tea Party on the issues, Matthews and MSNBC want to make the Gadsden flag into a militia mating call and show lots of images of guns to frighten people. Classy! It’s well deserving of a Leni Riefenstahl Award for Documentary Objectivity.
