rima fakih Muslim Born Miss USA Opposes Ground Zero MosqueAmerican of Muslim origin have spoken out against the Ground Zero mosque. Some have written articles opposing the project to build a mosque in lower Manhattan at a site where parts of one of the planes crashed.

Now the New York Post reports (via Hot Air) that Miss USA, Rima Fakih, the first Muslim winner of the peagant has joined the opposition.

“I totally agree with President Obama with the statement on Constitutional rights of freedom of religion,” Fakih told “Inside Edition” in an interview that will air tonight.

I also agree that it shouldn’t be so close to the World Trade Center. We should be more concerned with the tragedy than religion.”

We should applaud patriotic Americans like Rima Fakih who will compete in the Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas on Monday.
