Bad Flashback: Obama’s “This Was the Moment” Speech

October 21, 2010

If you have any doubt how to vote in this election, look back at what candidate Barack Obama promised two years ago:

I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.

It didn’t take generations to realize that Obama’s vision was nothing but a series of foolish statements. Two years later, people are losing their health care coverage because of Obamacare. Millions more are without a job. We must have missed the news about the oceans receding or the planet starting to “heal.” The war in Afghanistan will be lost if Obama starts withdrawing troops next year and the war in Iraq was effectively ended by his predecessor, the “evil” George Bush. America’s image as the last, best hope on Earth has been severely damaged by a president who goes around the world apologizing for America. Our enemies in Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, Russia and China keep visiting each other exchanging nuclear technology and stoking anti-Americanism in the world.

Some record of success. Imagine what the next two years would bring if we let Obama’s arrogant destruction of America continue unchecked. Or better, don’t get depressed by imagining what else Obama could do and throw his supporters out of office in the November election.
