Charlie Rangel First Congressman to Be Censured since 1983

December 2, 2010

Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi looks like she didn’t really want be there when she had to read a resolution to censure Rep. Charlie Rangel for corruption in front of the House today:

Rangel is the first congressman to be censured since 1983 and only the fifth in the past century.

Democrats demonstrated how serious they take corruption when they gave Rangel a standing ovation after he gave a speech at the censure today. Hot Air’s Allahpundit comments: “A fitting final note for ‘the most ethical Congress ever.’”
